The helicopter was regd. in France to Dexia Lease Belgium SA but operated by Heli and Co Sarl in Belgium as F-HACI from 18.12.2008 till 14.02.2011.
This helicopter when regd. in Belgium to Dexia Lease Belgium SA as OO-HCI since 23.02.2011 had departed the airfield of Spa (EBSP) to conduct an aerial surveillance on a gas pipeline system flight on behalf for Fluxys which acts as a natural gas operator on Tuesday the 18th of October 2011. It crashed at around 12.45hrs with two people aboard next to the Avenue de la Resistance in the heart of Soumagne, about 10km east of Li?ge. The two occupants were named as the pilot Stephane Simonetti (46) and co-pilot Matthieu Melis (27). They have crashed in the garden of a house No.492 Avenue of the Resistance, located 300 meters from the center of Soumagne (see Google Map below). Just 50 meters away, which connects the highway passes Liege to Aix-la-Chapelle. The first emergency services to arrive at the scene were the ambulance from Moreau, located 200 meters from the crash site.
